Your child possesses unique characteristics and struggles with particular issues that should be explored and examined by only the most caring and knowledgeable treatment practitioners. The experienced professionals at Three Springs understand that "cookie cutter" residential treatment programs do not work for every child.

As an answer to the question of how to best care for children with varying degrees of behavioral and emotional issues, we offer different types of adolescent programs for different problems.

Three Springs employs professional referral counselors who work with parents to determine the most appropriate environment for each child. They take into consideration past behavior, attitude, actions and guide parents toward the environment that best suits their child's personality and needs.

Outdoor Therapeutic Programs

For over 20 years, Three Springs of Paint Rock Valley has provided treatment for boys and girls with behavioral and emotional difficulties. Using a combination of traditional psychological and psychiatric treatment, our program helps troubled teens to identify destructive patterns of behavior and teaches them coping skills to improve their ability to manage strong emotions, peer pressure and conflicts within the family.

We specialize in helping students ages 13 to 18. The boys and girls live separately in rustic campsites near a main campus that has more modern amenities, including a dining hall and fully accredited school. Our caring staff work with parents and other professionals to design a treatment plan that is specific to your child’s and family’s needs. Students are able to make progress in school, family relationships, social skills and self-care.

Three Springs Paint Rock Valley is licensed by Alabama Board of Education and the Alabama Department of Youth Services. Our school is SACS/CASI accredited. Paint Rock Valley is affiliated with Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association

Located in the rolling hills of central Virginia, New Dominion School, a service of Three Springs, Inc., has two separate, year-around outdoor therapeutic programs: one for boys which opened in 1976 and one for girls which opened in 1996. The programs provide teenagers, ages 11-18, with a treatment approach that can help teens to begin to take positive control of their lives, realize their self worth, improve their self image and self concept, and become more motivated to succeed socially and emotionally. Both programs utilize the group process and the natural environment in working with adolescents who have experienced emotional, learning or behavioral problems at home, at school, or in the community

Three Springs of North Carolina was established in 1990 and serves boys and girls ages 12-17. Our program combines outdoor treatment, experiential activities and a SACS/CASI-accredited private school to create an unparalleled environment in which your child will thrive. In addition to our full-time staff, we have a multidisciplinary team of professionals with whom we work- social workers, therapists, nurses, teachers, counselors, case managers and a psychiatrist—who combine their efforts to create a comprehensive treatment plan for your child.

At Three Springs of North Carolina your child will learn to live and work with other students as a team in a structured outdoor campsite environment. Skilled group counselors, who are experienced in child and adolescent behavior, as well as in the use of the group process and outdoor therapeutic programming, supervise your child and his group at all times.
